Now the group of Catholic leaders have sent a letter to President Trump urging him to launch an official investigation into the activities of George Soros, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton (and others) who they allege were involved in orchestrating Catholic Spring that resulted in their goal of “regime change” in the Vatican.
The Catholic leaders cite eight specific questions they seek to have answered concerning suspect events that led to the resignation of Pope Benedict, the first papal abdication in 700 years.
“Specifically, we have reason to believe that a Vatican ‘regime change’ was engineered by the Obama administration,” say the petitioners, in their January 20 letter to President Trump.
“We were alarmed to discover,” their letter notes, “that, during the third year of the first term of the Obama administration your previous opponent, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and other government officials with whom she associated proposed a Catholic ‘revolution’ in which the final demise of what was left of the Catholic Church in America would be realized.”
The letter includes links to documents and news stories underscoring their claims. It first directs attention to the notorious Soros-Clinton-Podesta e-mails disclosed last year by WikiLeaks, in which Podesta and other progressives discussed regime change to remove what they described as the “middle ages dictatorship” in the Catholic Church.
Regarding the Podesta e-mails in question, The New American reported last October:
“Podesta, a longtime Clinton adviser/confidante and hand-picked top activist for left-wing funder George Soros, revealed in a 2011 e-mail that he and other activists were working to effect a “Catholic Spring” revolution within the Catholic Church, an obvious reference to the disastrous “Arab Spring” coups organized that same year by the Obama-Clinton-Soros team that destabilized the Middle East and brought radical Islamist regimes and terrorist groups to power in the region. The Podesta e-mail is a response to another Soros-funded radical — Sandy Newman, founder of the “progressive” Voices for Progress. Newman had written to Podesta seeking advice on the best way to “plant the seeds of the revolution” in the Catholic Church, which he described as a “middle ages [sic] dictatorship.”
In their letter to President Trump, the group of Catholics leaders write: “Approximately a year after this e-mail discussion, which was never intended to be made public, we find that Pope Benedict XVI abdicated under highly unusual circumstances and was replaced by a pope whose apparent mission is to provide a spiritual component to the radical ideological agenda of the international left. The Pontificate of Pope Francis has subsequently called into question its own legitimacy on a multitude of occasions.”
“We remain puzzled by the behavior of this ideologically charged Pope, whose mission seems to be one of advancing secular agendas of the left rather than guiding the Catholic Church in Her sacred mission,” they say, expressing the thoughts of millions of Catholics around the world stunned by Pope Francis’s left-wing ideology. “It is simply not the proper role of a Pope to be involved in politics to the point that he is considered to be the leader of the international left.”
They continue:
“With all of this in mind, and wishing the best for our country as well as for Catholics worldwide, we believe it to be the responsibility of loyal and informed United States Catholics to petition you to authorize an investigation into the following questions:
– To what end was the National Security Agency monitoring the conclave that elected Pope Francis?
– What other covert operations were carried out by US government operatives concerning the resignation of Pope Benedict or the conclave that elected Pope Francis?
– Did US government operatives have contact with the “Cardinal Danneels Mafia”?
– International monetary transactions with the Vatican were suspended during the last few days prior to the resignation of Pope Benedict. Were any U.S. Government agencies involved in this?
– Why were international monetary transactions resumed on February 12, 2013, the day after Benedict XVI announced his resignation? Was this pure coincidence?

Your ignorance of the Scriptures is showing. Jesus spoke of a Church. The word “eklesia” in Greek means “congregation.” It speaks of a group of people gathered together visibly, with a visible leadership, and a specific form of worship.
This Church was established with a certain leadership who were given authority to forgive sins (John 20:23). Thus we see Christ/God giving His authority to the Apostles to lead and teach the Church.
By the second century, this Church was called “katholicos” in Greek, which means “universal” or “of the whole.” Wherever you went, you found the exact same worship. The same doctrines.
What you didn’t find in the first century and onward was the chaos and confusion of Protestantism.

We fled from our cities instead of standing up to protect them. We fled from our traditional moral high ground instead of rejecting Marxism. Every positive recommendation from Enchanted1 is a very good thing, and we should do those things, I agree. However, why not have both? Enchanted1 is also right that we need to start small and build back up. We’re not going to rid the church of communists any time soon. It will take many generations, possibly a couple centuries if we’re really diligent.
Like he says… read your Bible at home. Pray. Invite others to your house (and go to theirs) to eat, pray, talk, and play board games or something. Build up local strength, have plenty of children (the future belongs to those who show up), and soon your descendants will be priests and nuns and bishops and cardinals. If ritual prayers aren’t your thing, be creative. If praying the Mass (the Traditional Latin Mass) in basically the same way that Christians have since the beginning helps you to feel respectful of the past, connected to the present, and hopeful for the future, then have at it.
Being true to yourself is not living in sin. Honesty is seeing what is and continuing on with what you know to be right as best you can under difficult circumstances.

I thought the pope was appointed by God. Why would He appoint an unGodly person? Where does it even state in the Bible that there is any need or reason for a pope? Aren’t the teachings of Jesus sufficient? They are, for me!
In Matthew 16:13-19 Christ established an office, the Petrine office, and made Peter the first earthly head of the Church. He gave the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven to Peter saying, “Whatsoever you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in Heaven; whatsoever you permit on earth will be permitted in Heaven.” That is a power that went with the Petrine office from Peter on down throughout the ages because just as people during the early days of Christianity needed guidance from above so also have people down through the ages. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide the Church in all truth. The Catechism of the Catholic Church along with the Bible lay out that truth. Not everyone is capable of understanding and interpreting everything written in the Bible. That is why the Church is necessary to keep people from false interpretations. As it says in 2 Peter 3:15-15, “There are some difficult things in Paul’s letters which ignorant and unstable people explain falsely, as they do with other passages of the Scriptures. So they bring on their own destruction.”
Jesus also warned us that there would be bad shepherds in the Church. We know who they are by the fruits they bear.
Remember, Jesus chose Judas Iscariot as one of the 12 Apostles.

Everything will be all right, in the end. From the history I’ve read, we have had some terrible popes. And the Church is still here. And it always will be.
I remember Scott Hahn answering a question about absolution given by a “bad” priest. He pointed out that when you visit your doctor, even if he is a chain smoker and very overweight, the medicine he prescribes for you will still work. I don’t remember the Latin phrase he mentioned, but it was about the effectiveness of the sacraments. Priests are just men, and they all have problems. Some have a LOT of problems. But even then, when they grant you absolution, or when they consecrate the Holy Eucharist, it works.
So, please. Come to Mass. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, and we can begin preparing for Easter. (Which is, like, the best day of the whole year!)
I have come to the realization that my EXCUSE for not going to mass was just that, an EXCUSE. I have gone back, I attended Ash Wednesday and Now come to believe it does not matter who the Pope is (excluding John Paul II, the best), my faith in Jesus and his Church is just that, His Church. You really don’t understand the book of Revelation. The Famous Prostitute riding on the beast was Jerusalem riding on the back of the Roman Empire. In chapter 18 she is referred to her in code language as “Babylon.” At the time John wrote Revelation, Babylon had been a pile of rubble for centuries. John was warning the people in Jerusalem to come out of her because Titus and the Romans were on their way to destroy the city. The Christians listened to John and remembered the words of Jesus in Matthew 24, and they left for Pella TransJordan escaping the wrath of the Lord displayed by the Romans.

The servants of God were his prophets that were stoned to death in Jerusalem, and it was the city that killed Our Savior.
And Jerusalem was punished mightily in 70 A.D. just as Jesus had prophesied. But the Christians all escaped. They were saved from the terrible punishment.

You base your church on the Bible? How odd. The earliest Christians were practicing the faith decades before the first Gospels were written, centuries before the canon was finalized. The Bible is based on the church, not the other way around. If you have a problem with the idea of a Pope, then turn to the Eastern Orthodox, and practice your Christianity as it has been practiced by Christians with an unbroken line of apostolic succession for 2000 years.
Not2pc4U, I have felt the same way, but have found refuge in the Eastern Orthodox church. I have researched the history of the Papacy and found that it alone is the sole source for much of the dissension that has occurred in the Roman Catholic church, being the point on which the Eastern Churches broke away. The modern Roman Catholic mass is pale reflection – almost a caricature – of the sanctity of the Orthodox Mass. Among the doctrinal differences, I have found the Orthodox doctrines to be much more rational and more in line with what I would expect from Christ. The Eastern Orthodox didn’t get it all right – I had one priest admit to me that they screwed up the calendar when it came to Easter and the Roman Catholic church had it right. The Orthodox church has not historically been as evangelical as the Roman rite.
If St. Malachi is to be believed, we are nearing the end of the Papacy. Many have interpreted this to be a harbinger of Armageddon, but I see events lining up for a reunification of the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox church, as Francis does irreparable damage to the fallacy of a monarch-like pontiff and the dogma of infallibility.
Seek out a local community of Antiochan or Greek orthodox. You’ll find the mas a bit disconcerting at first, as most Roman Catholics have never heard of St. John Chrysostom’s mass, but the essential elements are there, and some beautiful parts that the Roman church lacks, like the prayer before communion. After having attended the Orthodox mass, I find the Roman Catholic mass to be nothing but theater, with the priest as the star. That’s not how the mass was intended to be, and I think saying the mass vox populum is the single biggest heresy of Vatican II, as it subtly undermines and subverts the rest of the intent of the mass. The sacramental music has become a country or rock concert, lay people are manhandling the Holy Eucharist, and the mass has lost its meaning.

On multiple occasions, God uses people, on earth, to carry out His divine plan. Priests, and people, we all come to the Father through Jesus. Just love each other.

A human cannot intercede in a person’s sins against God, only God/Jesus can forgive sin through accepting of Jesus and asking for forgiveness and repenting. Here is the actual interpretation of the that verse. Question: “What is the correct interpretation of John 20:23?”

The key to understanding the meaning of John 20:23 lies in the previous two verses: “Again Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’” He sent them, as He is sending us, to bring the good news of the way to salvation and heaven to the whole world. Jesus was leaving the earth physically but promised God would be with them in the person of the Holy Spirit living in them. As they proclaimed the gospel, they could honestly tell people who believed in that message that their sins were forgiven, and they could honestly tell people that did not believe in the message that their sins were not forgiven and that they stand condemned in God’s eyes. Jesus said, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him” (John 3:36).
Believers today have the very same mission given to us! We are obligated to share the gospel message, the way to heaven, to others in the world, and we go about that mission with the Holy Spirit living inside us, guiding us as we share His truth. We are obligated to tell people the only way to be forgiven is through faith. Jesus said in John 8:24, “If you do not believe that I am (God), you will indeed die in your sins.” This is the very core of the gospel message and the very heart of what we are to explain to the world. It was Jesus’ last command to His followers before He physically left the earth—carry forward the message of hope and save as many as will believe in Him.
Jesus preached a crucial message about forgiving our brothers, as God forgave us. We stand in grace, and He expects us to keep our hearts pure toward others, not holding grudges or harboring a spirit of unforgiveness, especially after He gave us such undeserved love and forgiveness at such a high personal cost to Himself! Jesus said those who have been forgiven much, love much (Luke 7:47). He expects us to forgive others 70 times 7 times (Matthew 18:22). We are also told that if we are praying but hold something against anyone, we are to forgive that person so our relationship with God is right and righteous! Colossians 3:13 says, “Forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” We know we are His if we love our brothers and don’t hate them or have unforgiveness in our hearts (1 John 2:3-6; 3:14-19; 4:16-21). Forgiveness is a key to showing we indeed have eternal life inside us, according to these passages. If we say we love God but hate our brother, we are liars and no truth is in us. So, our forgiveness of others is a major indicator of true fellowship with God. God looks at the heart and actions, not mere words. Jesus stated while on earth, “These people come near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” So, it’s important we have a living, genuine faith: “We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers” (1 John 3:14).
With respect, I’m not interested in your “interpretation” of God’s Word. I have been a Protestant, so I understand your good intentions. However, the first church, established by Christ, is where I have found the most scripture-based theology. The universal church is not just another spin off, with so called “interpretations.” I came to the original, catholic (means universal) church as a well educated, discerning adult. The Hail Mary is a prayer of intercession. If you are willing to ask people on Earth to pray for you, why wouldn’t you ask the Mother of God in Heaven? The Saints and Mary are role models for Christians to follow. They are in Heaven, too. There again, if you are willing to ask Christians on Earth to pray for you, why wouldn’t you ask those in Heaven? Prayers to the saints are also prayers of intercession asking them through Jesus to grant you the Godly qualities that they exhibited in their lives.

When you ask others to pray for you it is to have them pray to God the father and God in human form which was Jesus to hear their pleas. No where in the Bible does it tell you to pray to angels or saints or anything else, in fact it commands you NOT to.
As Jesus commanded us to do, you are to pray to God and his Son NOT to dead saints that cannot hear you, they were human and are dust.
