Former President George W. Bush has praised the “protesters” who he says are marching for “a better future” and “lasting peace while hundreds of cities across the country are engulfed in chaos and organized destruction.

Bush said that he and former first lady Laura Bush were anguished by the death of George Floyd and disturbed by what they’ve seen since, chiming in on the side of legitimate protests, in what many are seeing as another rebuke at President Trump.

‘It is a strength when protesters, protected by responsible law enforcement, march for a better future,‘ Bush said.

But we also know that lasting peace in our communities requires truly equal justice,’ the ex-president said.

He added that ‘looting is not liberation, and destruction is not progress.’

Former President George W. Bush teamed up with former President Bill Clinton to attack President Trump's foreign policy on Wednesday.
Former President George W. Bush has praised “protestors” who are marching for “a better future.”

DailyMail report: Trump, in a tweet earlier Tuesday attacking Democratic rival Joe Biden, characterized protesters as ‘anarchists, looters or thugs.’

Bush started out the statement by explaining his reluctance to release one.

He and the former first lady, he said, ‘resisted the urge to speak out, because this is not the time for us to lecture.’

It is time for us to listen,‘ he said.

But Bush also said it was time for the country to examine it’s ‘tragic failures.’

That way, he said, the country could find its ‘redeeming strengths,’ which among those was peaceful protests.

It remains a shocking failure that many African Americans, especially young African American men, are harassed and threatened in their own country,‘ Bush said.

This tragedy — in a long series of similar tragedies — raises a long overdue question: How do we end systemic racism in our society?‘ Bush asked.

Bush suggested that could happen by listening to Americans who are ‘hurting and grieving.’

Those who set out to silence those voices do not understand the meaning of America – or how it becomes a better place,‘ he said.

Bush pointed to what he called the ‘heroes of America‘ – Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr. – and noted that they are ‘heroes of unity.’

Their calling has never been for the fainthearted. They often revealed the nation’s disturbing bigotry and exploitation — stains on our character sometimes difficult for the American majority to examine,’ Bush said.

We can only see the reality of America’s need by seeing it through the eyes of the threatened, oppressed, and disenfranchised,’ the ex-president added.

And he suggested that’s what the country needed to do now.

Black people see the repeated violation of their rights without an urgent and adequate response from American institutions,’ he pointed out.

We serve our neighbors best when we try to understand their experience,’ he said. ‘We love our neighbors as ourselves when we treat them as equals, in both protection and compassion.’

  1. He was a dip-sh*t President and he hasn’t improved with age. I hope the fires reach this globalists ranch!

Praising the New World Disorder….bring it to him!!
    .

  2. Prescott Bush believed Hitler would deliver lasting peace and a better world too For the billionaires.

    • My favorite theory along those lines is the possibility that Barbara Bush is the daughter of Alistair Crowley. Definitely a resemblance.

  3. Someone needs to teach, all of the press and I mean all, peaceful protesters are peaceful protesters. Looters are looters, nothing but criminals looting often while being observed by distant police who have been told to stand down, time and time again so as to get the political benefit to condemn all protest. Old tired game of the powerful. Antifa and those who follow in their patterns are marching criminals, not protesters, peace is not in their intent wearing masks, brass knuckles, 2×4 or iron rods for now that is. Call the assembly of persons and their actions what they are. Running police over with vehicles, is assault with a deadly weapon, not a protest action, it is attempted murder in the first degree. Looting and burning businesses is not protesting, it is criminal actions that now need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. No sympathy for those who had evil lurking in their hearts and resort to looting because a police provocateur breaks out store front windows with a three pound hammer, carrying a umbrella and no rain in sight. Please in the news media, educate yourselves accordingly the welfare of a nation in weighing in the balance for truth.

    • If they weren’t up to anything wrong, the cops don’t bother them. Their mostly rude, resist and then blame the men in blue when force is used. This isn’t about color it’s about holding all whites accountable for our forefathers mistakes.

  4. I wish he would define more clearly the difference between protesting and what is going on today. Violence, looting, destroying property is not right and does not solve anything. It should get you arrested. George Bush should support that at least and get that message out.

  5. A family of commies. Lolo Soetoro and George H W were in bed together. That’s where he met an 8 yr old Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Obama. Obama was left a third of his stepfather’s fortune of billions. At the time of Lolo’s death he was one of the 10 richest men on the planet. Should I go on. Google Barry Soetoro and look. Slimey scum bags along with the Clinton’s and Obama’s. All were in bed together.
