Was Hitler alive longer than previously thought?

From an article in The Indian Republic: “We have all learnt our high school History lessons, and we have all learnt that he who fails to learn from history is doomed to repeat it. We’ve also learnt how World Wars I and II took place, why it did, and possibly the most exciting point: Rather than choosing the torment of letting them capture him alive, Adolf Hitler, one of the world’s most well-renowned and feared dictators, chose to take his own life by shooting himself in his Berlin home.

Or did he? A thesis being written by Brazilian Jewish post-graduate student Simoni Renee Guerreiro argues that the Nazi leader did not commit suicide to elude capture but instead claims that Hitler may have escaped and resided as Adolf Leipzig in a small town named Nossa Senhora do Livramento, about 30 miles away from Cuiaba, the capital of Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. Simoni, who originates from Cuiaba, claims that the Hitler, under the pseudo identity of ‘Adolf Leipzig’, was known to the townsfolk as the ‘old German’.

To validate her point, she has also published a photograph of his, which she claims was a couple of years before his death. In the photograph, he is seen with a black woman names Cutinga, who Simoni says is his girlfriend. She debates that his friendship with the woman could be part of his new secret identity.

According to local papers, Simoni has now received permission from the respective authorities to exhume the remains for Leipzig’s remains from his grave in Nossa Senhora do Livramento. Simoni has also contacted a relative of Hitler residing in Israel, and plans to conduct several DNA tests to establish the truth.”
