According to a new study conducted by a scientist and a group of researchers from the UK, color has an influence on our bodies. The body has an internal clock, called the circadian rhythm, and the researchers now believe color has an influence on our body’s natural clock.

According to new research, color influences the body’s internal clock known as the circadian rhythm, as blues and yellows reflect the external rising and setting of the sun. The color of light may be a factor in influencing internal time clocks, according to a new study.
Research has shown that the body relies on light to calibrate its circadian rhythms, the approximately 24-hour cycle that helps to time sleep, digestion, and other bodily functions. Scientists in the United Kingdom decided to figure out if the color of the light made a difference as well, since it also changes over the day to indicate dawn and dusk.
They focused their attention on the suprachiasmatic nucleus, or SCN, a brain area common in vertebrate animals that contributes to the body’s time-keeping function. Using mice, once researchers determined that color registered by the eyes reached the SCN, they showed the rodents a simulation of the changing daily sky with varying color and intensity levels.
The mice that were exposed to the orange and blue colors related to dusk operated as usual, whereas when there was no color change, their body processes were thrown off by about 30 minutes, including their nightly body temperature spike.
