Seed of Suicide? Indian farmer widows blame GMO giants for fatal crop failures
One Indian farmer commits suicide every thirty minutes. Human-rights groups cite a number of reasons for the high rate of suicide – including droughts, the government’s economic policies and lack of support for farmers. A more controversial reason that’s been put forward, is the advent of GMO crops in India.
