Salford City Council (SCC) has launched a ban on anti social behavior in their borough by targeting foul language and imposing fines on swearing in public.
The Manchester council has taken the extraordinary step of introducing a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in the posh Quays area of Salford.

Local residents had complained to the council about unruly football fans traversing through their area on their way to Old Trafford stadium to watch a bit of footy magic by Manchester United.
Radio X reports:
According to the Manchester Evening News , the order says it will be a criminal offence if anyone is caught “using foul and abusive language,” with anyone breaching the conditions facing an on-the-spot fine.
However, according to the website, the order also fails to say which words will be considered foul and abusive, but with football fans using the Quays as a way to and from Manchester United’s ground in Old Trafford… it safe to say they might be saying any or all of them if matches don’t go their way.
Unsurprisingly, people haven’t taken kindly to the news since it was reported and have let Twitter know about it.
This is beyond ridiculous. Thought we had freedom of speech/expression?! @SalfordCouncil #SalfordCouncil #Scam https://t.co/WxqyJAk4PM

We suppose that means the likes of Liam Gallagher is best staying WELL away from the Quays then?
At least he’s a City fan, though…
