Teenager finds 'nazi gold' at the bottom of a lake in Germany

A German teenager has found Nazi gold gold weighing 500 grams at the bottom of a Bavarian lake near Berchtesgaden.

After months of investigations, local authorities were unable to determine the owner of the gold ingot, and allowed the teenager to keep it.

Speroforum.com reports:

It was not just an ordinary rock, but a gold ingot weighing 500 grams. It is valued at approximately $18,500 (17,000 euros).

It is not clear how the bar ended up in the lake. Koenigsee is located in the extreme southeast corner of Germany, very close to the country’s border with Austria.

Adolf Hitler and other leaders of National Socialist Germany had homes and vacationed nearby in the 1930s and 1940s. The teenager’s find revived stories of still unfound Nazi gold.
