Seattle Police Chief Sends Letters To Residents: We Cannot Enforce The Law, You Are On Your Own

The Seattle Police Department announced on Friday that residents and business owners are essentially on their own, after the leftist City Council banned police from using standard crowd control tools including pepper spray and other tools used to disperse large, violent crowds.

Simply put, the legislation gives officers NO ability to safely intercede to preserve property in the midst of a large, violent crowd,” reads a letter from Seattle Chief of Police, Carmen Best, who added that thanks to the City Council, “Seattle Police will have an adjusted deployment in response to any demonstrations this weekend.

And in anticipation of violent weekend protests coordinated by leftists on social media platforms (the same social media platforms that ban conservatives for using mean words), Seattle business and police have been boarding up.

Nationwide coordination

The Portland-based Pacific Northwest (PNW) Youth Liberation Front – which describes itself as a “decentralized network of autonomous youth collectives dedicated to direct action towards total liberation,” has issued a call to action for other Antifa cells across the country on Saturday – calling it “J25” (July 25).

In a Facebook ‘call to action,’ the anarchist group writes:

The Federal Government has already waged war against Portland, which has been protesting everyday for 50 days straight, and now feds are going to war against protesters everywhere in an attempt to take control and snuff out the fire of this uprising. We must become more powerful than them.

Form an affinity group.

Coordinate an action.

Get tactical.

Mask up.

Bring a friend.

Show up.

Black Trump supporter Bernell Trammell was murdered on Thursday afternoon in broad daylight in Milwaukee, Wisconsin just hours after giving an interview in which he urged his fellow African Americans to vote for President Donald Trump in the November election.

Hours later Trammell, who was known in his community as a respected and peaceful man with no enemies, was gunned down “execution style” in front of his store.

The shooting occurred in front of Trammell’s business, which is called Express Publications and is covered in signs, including most prominently signs saying “Vote Donald Trump 2020,” and “Re-Elect Trump 2020.

The shooting led to the Republican Party of Wisconsin issuing the following statement from Chairman Andrew Hitt:

‘It is tragic to learn of the senseless murder of Bernell Trammell, and I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends. Because of Trammell’s well known political activism and the possibility that his murder could be politically motivated, I respectfully request that United States Attorney Matthew Krueger open an investigation into this heinous crime. No American should fear for their personal safety because of where they live or their political affiliation.’

  1. The real issue is the status of the legality of the mayor to deny citizens and taxpayers their rights to police protection.

      • John is absolutely 100% correct. Here is another case that supports said decessions. Castle Rock v. Gonzales, 545 U.S. 748, is a United States Supreme
Court case in which the Court ruled, 7–2, that a town and its police
department could not be sued under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 for failing to
enforce a restraining order, which had led to the murder of a woman’s
three children by her estranged husband.

        • My my, aren’t WE the tolerant one!
You want someone’s house burned down for simply reporting the truth.

          • Truth Troll…
            Anything like the Tooth Fairy?
Or, do you not understand punctuation?
Perhaps you should look up Heller v. DC and Castle Rock v. Gonzales and read them for yourself.
Assuming you could actually read and understand a court document.
It would appear from your replies that you are just a liberal crapbag masquerading as a conservative.
Go back to your basement and tell mommy you need a new diaper.

          • Go crawl back under whatever rock you crawled out from under and leave the conversations to those of us that are over three years old.
Every time you reply, you just prove my case. Ad hominem attacks with no foundation only prove exactly what I have been saying.
            Troll.

          • Nah…
Things like you don’t offend me.
I just scrape them off the bottom of my shoe and keep on walking.

  2. This woman couldn’t dead-lift 50 lbs and she’s the top cop? Gimme a break. Everything in this miserable world is bass-ackwards!

  3. Couple of options for the police chief & LEOs: 1) She could state that the City Council ordinance is not binding on her management of the department (thus daring them to fire her) and indicate a willingness to testify in suits brought for extreme negligence on behalf of any LEO injured, 2) She could resign and signal to the LEOs to do likewise since their life is seriously at risk under this guideline, or 3) (my favorite) She could have printed maps and directions to the homes of City Council members, indicating that there will be NO LEOs stationed in those neighborhoods, and distribute them to any gathering crowd wishing to protest the “powers that be”.

  4. Ok…if the cops can’t help you, your on your own, if you kill someone while they are breaking into your business/house, trying to hurt one of your family or yourself, do you get a free pass?

    • Absolutely not. Look at the couple in St. Louis. Not only did they take their guns and charge them illegally. They had them tamper with evidence to try to convict them. The handgun was not in working order. The owners knew that, as they made it that way to use as a prop in a court case. Yet Kim Garner had them put the gun back in working condition, while in evidence. To try to get a conviction. For doing absolutely nothing against the MO law.

    • It is better to be tried by 12 then to be carried by 6. Get your weapons out and put an end to this communist move.

    • Nothing is free. That’s why we have a second amendment. A great deal of blood has already been put on the ground in our past to give us the second amendment. The sheriff of that county needs to say and do like many of the southern sheriffs have said and will do, they need to deputize a great number of patriots and do away with these communist and socialists attacks. Your sheriff has a great deal more power the your local police or city council..

  5. How about a group following the protesters home and then ransack and burn their homes. Of course they will expect the police to defend their homes. LMAO. Of course law abiding citizens don’t engage in this type of criminal activity but it would be ironic.

  6. CITIZENS OF SEATTLE
This will be your future, only worse, if you continue to elect Democrats. Soon they’ll be coming into neighborhoods, it may be your neighborhood or your home. To have a change, you’ll have to vote for Republicans.

    • Oh please. No liberal high brow elite would ever debase themselves to vote Republican. You know, the fear of being called racist and all.

  7. When are you un-educated fools going to realize that this is a Marxist revolution fomented by George Soros, Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Tony Fauci, the Clintons, the CDC, NIH, and many other traitors in the FBI, CIA, our State Department, the CFR, and a hundred other Marxist agencies??

  8. How ridiculous is this ? The resident’s should send one to the mayor that they can’t pay their taxes until the moron if a mayor cleans out these protesting terrorist morons.

  9. They need to stop calling it peaceful protest because it is not, it’s clear they don’t know the definition of peaceful protest, this is anarchy and I’m glad they are sending in the feds.

  10. This is absolutely bizarre. She needs to take notes from the Dallas Chief of Police. It is disgusting that this Seattle Chief of Police allows these rioters to dictate to her. Obviously she doesn’t care one bit about her precinct.

  11. I have an idea. Vote the local city council out and never vote for another Democrat. Problem solved.

  12. The good tax paying citizens of Seattle need to show up at the city councils homes, and tell them if they don’t give them their tax funded police force their ability to do their jobs, they will show them what it’s like to have protesters tear their homes apart !

    • Right let citizens protest the council and see how well they like it. Maybe with lots of noise – annoying but not violent. Good idea

  13. So if you live in a jurisdiction run by feckless Liberal boneheads you had better stock up on ammo.and buy a mean dog. The best way to lose a fight is not to realize you are in one.

  14. With the police out of the way…let loose the RIGHT! Bring your best toys and lets get it on!

  15. “[T]he leftist City Council banned police from using standard crowd
control tools including pepper spray and other tools used to disperse
    large, violent crowds.”

Just unbelievable! The Seattle City Council is a very compelling reason not to vote Democrat come November.

  16. Can citizens request State militia help from the governor? That would be my first step before a National Guard.

  17. Simple rules:
    Hide behind masks
Stay in groups like the coward we are
    Be violent
Run away on tippie toe if they fight back.
    Stay stupid.

  18. and from the right? nothing but pussified responses. when are you going to fight fire with fire? or is that not in the short term play book? and why doesn’t the seattle police chief start arresting council members for sedition and conspiracy and enabling terrorism?

  19. Seattle Conservatives had better take a page from “The Seven Samurai” and hire someone to protect them. Call Erik Prince and get Blackwater to massacre those communist invaders. Leave none of them alive.

  20. The city council should all be fired The mayor needs to go to. What a disgrace that city turned in to. Everyone who voted for these idiots should be ashamed of themselves

  21. I’m not normally one to advocate for violence, but these ‘protestors’ know that there won’t be any serious consequences for any of their actions…looting, property damage, attacking the police. Maybe it’s time to exchange the rubber bullets for lead ones. Yeah, the media coverage of the first few injuries/deaths will be brutal but it’s not like the police are exactly being covered favorably now. But the possibility of serious (permanent) consequences may make some of these rioters re-think their participation. For many, I’m sure it’s the first time in their lives they’d actually face serious consequences for their actions.

  22. These should be two different articles with two different headlines. Each is easily important enough on their own. The Seattle Morass and PD Chief issuing her statement, etc. Then separately, the apparently politically motivated murder of the (I understand he was 60 years old) Black entrepreneur and vocal supporter of Trump, in Milwaukee, etc.- a crime which no MSM is reporting, of course. And no protesters amass about, etc.

  23. **************
    Seattle votes for Democrats.
This is an inevitable consequence of that stupidity.
You voted for it, you got it. Enjoy, fool.
