WARNING: Video contains scenes some viewers may find distressing.

A Brazilian journalist tries to get an exclusive report from a crime scene that involved a shoot-out between the police and three suspected gunmen. In his rush to get testimonies before anyone else, the man is seen talking to the police first, and then the reporter quickly moves on to two suspects lying on the ground. He sticks his microphone into one of their faces and starts talking aggressively in Portuguese asking questions. One of the two handcuffed suspects mumbles something back. The eager reporter then moves to the side of a damaged car that was involved in an apparent robbery and promptly sticks his microphone into another suspect lying face down next to the car.

Again he starts shouting questions at the man. The man was unable to reply to his questions. He was already dead and unresponsive to the interrogation. The oblivious reporter keeps talking to the camera after he realizes the man is dead. He says: “This one is hurt. Amazingly I was going to interview a guy who is already dead.” Later on he still hadn’t realized that he indeed had interviewed “a guy who was already dead.”

A reporter in Aracaju, Brazil, was the first on the scene of an alleged shooting involving three suspected gunmen.

Determined to get testimonies before any other journalist, the man began his questioning by talking to police.

He then quickly turned his attentions to the alleged criminals.

Two of the suspects, both dressed in red, are seen lying face down on the floor with their hands cuffed behind them.

Crouching by their faces, the reporter asks them a few questions, to which one man gives a few mumbled replies.

But it is when the reporter moves on to question a third suspect, who is lying by the wheel of a car dressed in blue, that he makes the horrifying error.

Holding the microphone to the man’s mouth, the journalist waits for a reply from the man, before suddenly realising that the body on the ground appears to be dead.

He then quickly stands up, saying: “This one is hurt. Amazingly I was going to interview a guy who is already dead.”

It is thought that the three men had attempted to rob a grocery shop in the area, before shots were exchanged between the suspects and the police, according to The UOL.

Police confirmed a man died at the scene.
