Over 50 Countries Found Guilty Of Aiding CIA Torture Program

Fact checked
53 countries have been accused of being complicit in the CIA's torture program

Human rights activists and lawyers went to the European Parliament to protest Europe’s role in the CIA detention, rendition, and torture program.

Extraordinary rendition and detention is when a detainee is transferred to the custody of another country without a legal process.

At least 54 countries, including 21 European nations, were found by the Open Society Justice Initiative to have enabled the CIA by allowing travel through an airbase, having illegally transferred detainees into US hands for the purpose of interrogation or torture.

Some of these countries were found to have hosted “black sites” where the CIA has used waterboarding and other forms of enhanced interrogation.
