The New Straits Times, a highly respected Malaysian newspaper that is published in english, reported last week on quite a few interesting pieces of information that hasn’t reached media in the rest of the world. Although whispers of what The New Straits Times is reporting on have circled western media for weeks, these thorough articles are painting a very different story than what we are hearing here in the west.
The first article of note is entitled, “Was MH17 Finished Off With A Guns Kill?”, with the sub headline, “US analysts conclude MH17 downed by aircraft”. The report states that analysts from the United States have concluded that MH17 was shot down by an air to air missile (a missile launched from an aircraft in flight), and that the Ukrainian government had something to do with it.

The report goes on to say, “This corroborates an emerging theory postulated by local investigators that the Boeing 777-200 was crippled by an air-to-air missile and finished off with cannon fire from a fighter that had been shadowing it as it plummeted to earth. In a damning report dated Aug 3, headlined’“Flight 17 Shoot-Down Scenario Shifts’, Associated Press reporter Robert Parry said “Some US intelligence sources had concluded that the rebels and Russia were likely not at fault and that it appears Ukrainian government forces were to blame’.”
In a slight about-face, not two days later, The New Strait Times released another report, entitled “Flight MH17 unlikely shot down by fighter jets: Hishammuddin”. In that report, The New Strait Times says, “Defense Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein today denied reports in the social media that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17 was shot down by fighter jets. He said intelligence and evidence gathered from the fragments of the ill-fated aircraft clearly showed it was shot down by missiles that were launched to the air from the ground.
‘Based on military intelligence and evidence from a portion of fragments found, it is not likely the bullets were used from air to air but from surface to air. Whether these were owned by Ukraine or the rebels who supplied by Russia. the bullets must have come from BUK System and this matter cannot be denied by Europe, Nato or Russia,’ he told reporters after officiating the Bera Umno’s Wanita, Youth and Puteri wing division meeting here today.”
The New Strait Times issued one last report of note, entitled “MH17: Pockmarks look like from very, very heavy machine gun fire, says first OSCE monitor on-scene”. The report talks about how panels and debris from the aircraft look at though they have been riddled with bullets. The article states, “Yesterday, the New Straits Times quoted experts who had said that photographs of the blast fragmentation patterns on the fuselage of the airliner showed two distinct shapes — the shredding pattern associated with a warhead packed with “flechettes”, and the more uniform, round-type penetration holes consistent with that of cannon rounds.
Parry also cited a July 29 Canadian Broadcasting Corporation interview with Michael Bociurkiw, one of the first Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) investigators to arrive at the scene of the disaster, near Donetsk.
Bociurkiw is a Ukrainian-Canadian monitor with OSCE who, along with another colleague, were the first international monitors to reach the wreckage after flight MH17 was brought down over eastern Ukraine. In the CBC interview, the reporter in the video preceded it with: ‘The wreckage was still smouldering when a small team from the OSCE got there. No other officials arrived for days’.
‘There have been two or three pieces of fuselage that have been really pockmarked with what almost looks like machinegun fire; very, very strong machinegun fire,’ Bociurkiw said in the interview.”
As the investigation continues, it is difficult to get the truth on a subject that should seemingly be easier to get information on the circumstances surrounding the crash. With world governments all pointing fingers at each other, it may be awhile before the truth is known. Why Malaysia? Why the secrecy? YourNewsWire.com will continue to follow this story closely.
