A magnitude 5.8 earthquake shook parts of Anchorage and was felt in Fairbanks.
KTLA5 reports:
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, according to CNN. Only light shaking was reported in Anchorage, according to USGS’s ShakeMap.
“We definitely felt it here in Anchorage but we have no reports of damage or injuries at this point,” said Julie Harvey, with Anchorage Office of Emergency Management, according to CNN.

The quake hit at 3:32 p.m. Pacific Time, according to USGS.
It was at a depth of 71.6 miles, preliminary USGS information indicated. The epicenter was in a remote, mountainous region.
No tsunami was expected.
The quake was initially reported as 5.7, then a 6.2, and finally as a 5.8.
