Today a warrant was issued for the arrest of the Cardinals Guard Chris Jones. He has been charged with raping one woman and sodomizing another. Chris Jones was discharged by the team a week ago at their match against Syracuse. He was Cited at the time by Campus police for sending a ‘threatening text to his former girlfriend’.

That woman, who decided against prosecuting Jones, was not one of Jones’ alleged victims.
Jones was reinstated by Pitino and played in the Cardinals’ win over Miami on Saturday. The alleged sexual assaults took place Saturday night, according to the report, and one of Jones’ alleged victims, who was hospitalized on Sunday, identified him as the suspect.
On Sunday, the university announced without further explanation that Jones was dismissed from the team.
He is expected to surrender in court this morning.
Jones, a senior from Memphis, started in 24 of the 26 games he appeared in this season. He averaged 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
