The head of one of the UK’s biggest police forces is being probed in relation to his role in the investigation into a suspected sex offender.
The chief constable of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Sir Peter Fahy is one of three officers to be served with a criminal and gross misconduct notice following an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
Calls have been made for Sir Fahy to step down, but Crime Commissioner Tony Lloyd said “nothing has been placed before me at this time” to make him consider his position.
