Gov. Ron DeSantis Bans Obama’s ‘Toxic’ Common Core in Florida

Florida gov. Ron DeSantis bans Obama's Common Core program

Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed an executive order completely banning Obama’s “toxic” Common Core from Florida schools.

“One of the things we would constantly hear about on the campaign trail is frustration from parents with Common Core and the testing,” said Gov. DeSantis at a news conference at Ida S. Baker High School in Cape Coral.

Abcactionnews.com reports: The Governor said he wants to work with the Florida Department of Education, as well as speak with teachers and parents about their experiences with Common Core.

“Let’s get this right,” said Gov. DeSantis “We want high quality, we want to demand excellence.”

The Governor said he wants to streamline standardized testing, make civics a priority in schools, and increase the rate of literacy.

Common Core is a set of academic standards in mathematics and arts/literacy that outline what students should know at the end of each grade. Some parents argued the guidelines were too rigid and required too much testing for students.

“When you complained about Common Core, I hear you. I told you I would do something about, and today we’re acting to bring those promises into reality,” said Gov. DeSantis.

The president of the Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association, Robert Kriete, said he was surprised by the announcement.

“We don’t have enough information to actually tell you that we’re for or against it,” Kriete said.

However, he says they are optimistic and that the priority is educating students.

“We’re just not going to turn our back because he wants to do something different,” Kriete said.

Kriete said their teachers are capable of handling a new standard, but it is going to take time and money.

“I hope the governor recognizes that unfunded mandates just are not going to work for public education,” Kriete said.

The Pasco County Superintendent of Schools Kurt Browning released this statement following the announcement:

“I commend the governor for taking bold stands and staying true to his promises. I completely support streamlining standardized testing, increasing civics education, and improving literacy.

However, I ask Governor DeSantis and Education Commissioner Corcoran to consider the amount of time, funding, and effort teachers, administrators, and school districts have invested in professional learning, curriculum, materials, and resources that align with our current standards. I understand that parents have had difficulty grasping some of the standards, and there may be a need to adjust some of them. My concern is that we not lose ground in the progress we have made toward ensuring our students are prepared for the demands of college and the workforce. We look forward to working with our state leaders to assure that the development of new K-12 standards is deliberate and focused on preparing all students for success in college, career, and life.”

On Wednesday, the Governor held a news conference at Tampa Bay Technical High School, where he announced a plan to improve Florida’s workforce education program.

  1. Are you saying that Obama’s the reason that the left has gone totally insane? Wow if that’s true, then it means that Obama never allowed himself to be humbled. It would mean Obama failed to learn from the fact that his immense ineptitude and arrogance woke up a huge portion of the sleeping complacent. And so, he made the same mistake once again after leaving office. He hyped up the idiot Americans into abject lunacy, which chased off the Democrat supporters who weren’t idiots as they became justifiably concerned about the suffering that would ensue if Democrat insanity got its way.

If this is true, then I would be forced to recant my previous thinking that Obama was the worst mistake in U.S. History. If this is true, Obama wasn’t the worst mistake, but the great correction. Democrats caused their side to become so completely stupid and arrogant respectively that it caused them to make the tremendous blunder of putting Obama into the Oval Office.

He needed to be black for this to work too, because their arrogance wouldn’t have been triggered, and they would have seen the obviousness that Obama should never have been anywhere near the Oval Office. Either McCain or Hillary would have won that election. Both would have been far less arrogant and more methodical. The sleeping complacent would still be asleep right now as the Democrats today entirely controlled media, was able to control all of the easily accessible internet, and perhaps even Fox News when Murdoch didn’t see a reason not to just allow his Democrat-loving liberal sons take it over entirely, and thereby empowering Democrats to take away our last bits of remaining freedoms right from under out noses. Same with Romney. Obama did horrendous his first four years. Again, his black skin triggered the Democrat supporter’s arrogance to ensure they would refuse to acknowledge the blatancy of Obama’s immense ineptitude.

Obama’s legacy may very well go down in history as the most corrupt president in U.S. history who inadvertently paved the way to saving this nation because of the immensity of his arrogant ineptitude. Obama may quite literally go down as the biggest joke in U.S. history. The man who tried to corrupt the nation beyond repair so that the corrupt could take it over, but ended up accidentally paving the way for patriots to take the nation right out of the control of the corrupt, saving it for the foreseeable future, or at least until this era’s scum are all long dead and burning in hell.
