Flight Attendant Quits Job Week Before Russian Airline Disaster

A flight attendant quit his job with the doomed Russian airliner a week before the crash, after his father had a premonition in a bad dream.

Oleg Ermakov should have been on the flight which came down in Sinai killing all 224 people on board. Instead he was saved by his dad who had warned him to his job, after he had a vision of a catastrophe. Oleg resigned from the Russian airline Metrojet a week before the tragic incident.

Oleg was forced to watch on in horror on Saturday as he learned that Flight 9268 had crashed in the Sinai desert, killing all 224 on board.

It has since emerged that the Islamic State affiliate Sinai Province may have placed an explosive device on the jet.

Following the shock news Britain temporarily halted all flights to and from the popular Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Oleg had been on the rota to work on the plane prior to his resignation.

He said: “It’s incredible that I was not on board the plane, I knew every one of the crew, and I knew the plane and had flown the route many times.”

Oleg added: “I had been thinking of giving up the job anyway but then a week before I got a call from my dad who told me he had had a bad dream, he was clearly very upset and he told me ‘Oleg, resign’.”

He also knows that because of his resignation one of his colleagues would have been asked to fill his shift and would have lost their life.

Oleg said: “I knew the pilots as well. They were good guys, professional pilots, former military pilots, they had worked many years in civil aviation. There is no doubting their expertise.”

But he said the tragedy would not stop him flying and he was actually considering training as a pilot.
