A Texas demolition team tore down the wrong building and blamed their mistake on Google Maps.
The company said the demolition mistake was “not a big deal”

The owners of a tornado-damaged duplex in Rowlett, a suburb of Dallas, arrived at their homes on Tuesday to find they had been demolished, according to the local ABC News affiliate WFAA. But the demolition was a mistake.
The contractor, Billy L. Nabors Demolition, actually had a demolition permit for a home on the next block, WFAA reported. The error could have been partially due to Google Maps, which apparently confused the two addresses and pointed the company to the wrong duplex.
Lindsay Diaz and Alan Cutter, who own the two sides of the demolished duplex, told WFAA they had been waiting on insurance and possible funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to decide on repairs to their homes. Now, they’ll likely have to rebuild.
Nabors chief executive George Gomez told WFAA that the situation is “not a big deal.”
