Democrat Marianne Williamson Defends Philly Looters: Bible Doesn’t Say ‘Thou Shalt Not Loot’

Fact checked

Former Democrat presidential candidate Marianne Williamson tried to justify another night of violent riots and looting in Philadelphia by claiming the Bible doesn’t say anything about looting.

Yes, really. Apparently, Williamson is unfamiliar with the Ten Commandments, one of which clearly states, “Thou shalt not steal.”

Numerous stores were trashed and looted and police officers were violently attacked by Black Lives Matter supporters “protesting” the shooting of Walter Wallace Jr., who was killed after advancing towards officers with a knife.

One of the stores targeted was Chick-fil-A, despite its CEO Dan Cathy previously demeaning himself by kneeling before a black rapper and shining his shoes in a pro-Black Lives Matter stunt.

Responding to the looting, Williamson took to Twitter to declare, “There are people in this country more concerned about a Walmart being looted than about an innocent man being killed. Many of them tout the Bible, but “Thou shall not loot” is not in there. “Thou shalt not kill” sure is.”

Summit report: When respondents pointed out Williamson’s embarrassing mistake, she was forced to correct herself, tweeting, “Actually, “Thou shalt not steal” is of course in there. But my point about priorities remains the same.”

Apparently, the ‘priority’ for many in Philly over the last two nights has been to secure some fresh new Jordans from Footlocker and whatever was left to loot at Walmart.

All in the name of “justice” and Black Lives Matter, of course.

  1. The bible does say not to steal, anyhow, regardless, the law of the land says it is against the law to steal. you dumb azz

      • There are literally dozens of examples in the Bible that tell us of not obeying civil law if it contravenes God’s law. If you can’t find that in your bible, you are not reading it. Your statement about obeying all the laws of the land is a myth based on not understanding scripture. A practicing follower of Christ is always called upon to obey God’s law, rather than a corrupt, tyrannical government. See a book titled “Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates” for clear examples, up to and including the execution of Ceausescu in Rumania

        • I totally agree, Cheryl .. There certainly dozens of examples in the Bible that tell us of disobeying civil law if it contravenes God’s law. If Anonymous cannot find that in his bible, he’s not reading it. His statement about obeying all the laws of the land is a myth based on misunderstanding scripture. 2. The same old liberal attitudde, ‘What the hell, it’s not my store and livlihood.’

DOX her then send a mob to burn down and loot her house and see what thinks then! I think it would give this spoiled brat a whole new perspective!

  3. If she were AT ALL GOD FEARING. she wouldn’t be such a flippant hypocrite. She clearly doesn’t give a toss about the Bible or the Word of God .Not a bit .No democrats can You cannot say the power us the jobs and believe in God’s teaching that His Word is the Law .

    • The power is the jobs .I typ s That auto corrupt is insidiously programmed in this device by then ,Obviously The MOB OF THEM .” THEY’RE ALL IN IT TOGETHER “.”Princess Dianna .”and remember ,—nothing is what it seems ” QE2

  4. Actually technicaly to steal biblically is to deny others the use of. So selfishness is a crime a form of theft as well .And you can bet she wouldn’t let a homeless person sleep in her porch .

  5. Marianne Williamson is a New Age author. She has written many books about the New Age philosophy of love. Apparently, she’s forgotten it altogether. So, does destruction of property and peoples’ livelihoods and theft not apply? Or is it okay if there is a good reason behind it? Also, what would constitute a “good reason” to destroy another’s livelihood?

  6. This is why I’m sick of Robert Daniel Steele, the former CIA officer, who would pretend we should think of Matrianne Willamson as engaging us in the “Politics of Love”. He should stick to book reports.

  7. Marianne Williamson…YOU IDIOT…guess what the PEOPLE ARE TAKING the REVOLUTION BACK you PINKOS LOOTED
AND CITIZENS ARREST IS the PRICE YOU WILL PAY
