Former producer of the documentary series, the ‘Deadliest Catch’ was found dead outside his California home. Joe McMahon, 25, was shot dead in front of his Pasadena property in the early hours.
A 24-year-old unidentified suspect was later found dead in his car. According to CBS Los Angeles, the suspected killer was found dead in his car in the afternoon from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Daily Mirror reports:
Discovery, the network behind “Deadliest Catch,” said in a statement: “We are heartsick about this tragedy – our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and to all that knew and worked with him.”
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 3600 block of Yorkshire Road in the Chapman Woods neighbourhood around 2:19am, after receiving a call about possible shots fired, according to ABC 7 News.

When police arrived, they found a 25-year-old man with gunshot wounds on the street. Authorities say the man’s body was found just one driveway from his home.
Family members identified the victim as McMahon, and said that he worked on “Deadliest Catch.” His grandfather is former CBS News reporter Bob Flick.
According to his IMDb page, McMahon worked as an associate producer on the hit series for nine episodes in 2013.
The motive has not been determined, and an investigation is under way.
Authorities do not believe drugs were involved, and there is no indication that McMahon had any gang affiliation.
