Four people have been killed and several injured in a terror attack at a popular open-air shopping center in the heart of Tel Aviv, according to Israeli police and media.

Reports claim that two Palestinian gunmen dressed as ultra-Orthodox Jews opened fire at the Sarona Market food and retail center, close to the defense ministry and army HQ in central Tel Aviv.

RT reports:

Two Palestinian gunmen from the West Bank carried out the shooting referred to as a “harsh terror attack,” AP cited Tel Aviv district police commander Moshe Edri as saying.

Three people were killed in the attack and at least six injured, some critically. Israel’s Channel 2 TV later reported that one of those badly injured died in the hospital.

Both of the attackers have been detained, police official said, adding that one was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The shooting incident took place at Sarona Market, a popular shopping center in the city center, on Wednesday evening. The market is located close to the Israeli Defense Ministry and General Staff buildings.

Two suspects, referred to as “terrorists,” have been captured by police, Micky Rosenfeld, the Israel police’s spokesman for the foreign media, said on Twitter.

According to initial reports, an armed man opened fire at passers-by in the area. Reports on social media suggested there were two shooters, “dressed as ultra-orthodox Jews.

The perpetrators were “two Palestinians from the South Hebron Hills,” the Jerusalem Post cited Likud party member Amir Ohana as saying. The politician, who arrived at the scene, told reporters: “We need to see who sent the terrorists and to find them.

The area has been sealed off by law enforcement, and people have been warned to stay away from the scene.

  1. The Argentina news’s papa La Nacion, wrote an antique about this attack. When I post comment about the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands and the mass kills of innocent people all perpetuated by the Israeli government, my comment is automatically eliminated. Seem some things are not allowed to be mention..

  2. It is really difficult for me to have sorrow for those who have chosen to occupy another country and to create genocide to its people. If Israel was to occupy the US and citizens rose up to fight, they would be considered terrorist.
