A strange sighting in the Antarctic snow on Google Maps looks like a crashed UFO - can you use Google Maps to figure out what it is?

UFO

UFO hunters are convinced they have found the remains of a crashed UFO in the snow of Antarctica on Google Maps.

From The Telegraph:

The co-ordinates of the ‘crash site’ have been shared widely on social media after a Russian UFO enthusiast shared them online.

If you want to see the intriguing image, type 80°34’08.4″S 30°05’19.3″W into the search bar on Google Maps and set it to the satellite ‘Earth’ view.
Alien hunter Valentin Degretev said on a Russian social media site the object is a ‘classic’ shaped UFO.

According to the The Mirror, he said: “In amongst the endless ice desert, it is the most genuine UFO in its most classic shape,”

“It is definitely not a polar station nor a plane as there aren’t any airplanes or helicopters this big in the world,” said Mr Degterev. He estimated the size of the object as roughly 204-foot across.

However, others are skeptical about the claim that the shape is the remains of a UFO.

It could just be a crack in the ice, or a crevasse. Put in the co-ordinates and see for yourself – is it a crack in the ice, or the remains of a UFO?
