Almost One Million Bernie Sanders Ballots Illegally Shredded

Fact checked
A San Diego County Registrar insider claims that hundreds of thousands of California Democratic primary provisional ballots have been illegally destroyed in a covert shredding operation.

A San Diego County Registrar insider claims that hundreds of thousands of California Democratic primary provisional ballots have been illegally destroyed in a covert shredding operation.

A consignment of boxes was delivered to the San Diego Registrar’s Office at 5600 Overland Ave in the morning and an “oversized shredding van” arrived minutes later and took the boxes away. The boxes were carried from the building to the vehicle by men she had never seen before wearing dark blue overalls.

“I asked my boss and a few other people what the boxes were about because as far as I knew we weren’t expecting a delivery and I got told that it was above top secret and I didn’t have clearance. Everyone was acting edgy then the truck drove off. Sad.”

“Everybody is talking about it.”

While there could be a innocent explanation for why a paper shredding truck was parked in front of the Registrar’s office after the Registrar received an “above top secret” consignment of boxes at a time when there are almost a million provisional ballots unaccounted for, the insider believes they were provisional ballots that have now been destroyed.

The truck bearing the slogan: Because the Outcome has to be Certain!!!

Let’s look at the math.  Alex Padilla California’s Secretary of State publicly said:

“6 million ballots had already been counted from the statewide primary. The uncounted tally would push total voter turn out to about 8.5 Million, or 47% of all registered voters.”

This comes directly from the horse’s mouth. Let’s break this down further, using figures from the official count:

June 7th: before any late mail in ballots or any provisional ballots were counted Hillary had 1,940,580 and Bernie had 1,502,043.  That equals 3,442,623 votes in the official count.

So why did Alex Padilla say six million ballots had already been counted when the total was closer to 3.5 Million?

As of today (July 3rd) Hillary 2,713,259 and Bernie 2,326,030 according to the official count. That equals 5,039,289 Votes.

This is a total increase of 1,596,666.

San Diego votes

Even if you add in the remaining 287,782 ballots still to be counted, plus the REP votes of 2,188,201 plus IND of 41,508, plus the Green of 14,189 plus the LIB of 29,551 plus the P&F of 4,929 – you come up with 7,605,449. Where are the rest of the votes?

Greg Palast, an independent journalist who exposed purges of voter rolls in George W. Bush-era Florida, lent his voice to the argument in an article late last month titled “How Bernie won California.” His evidence was the number of provisional ballots – cast by people who did not appear on the rolls, with the promise that their vote would be counted later – and the difficulty that voters with “no party preference” had in casting the right ballots.

“I can tell you this: Senator Sanders won California,” Palast said. “Let me do the math for you. Most of those late mailed-in ballots were what are called NPP, No Party Preference. These independent ballots were the ones that came in late because people had to switch their ballots. It’s a complex process, in California, that’s all I can tell you. The late ballots are Sanders ballots.”

        • Really? You really think that someone sent one truck to pick up one million ballots to shred in broad daylight as part of a massive scheme to deny Bernie Sanders the California primary? Based on one person seeing one truck?

From everything I’ve read and seen all of the “fraud” going on has been uninformed yahoos not understanding how the system works. If you possess knowledge of something that Jeff Weaver isn’t aware of, I’m sure he’d like to hear about it. If the campaign isn’t alleging anything, that’s because it never happened.

          • I agree, Robert. Uninformed yahoos had NO IDEA that one could line up several hundred delegates BEFORE the first caucus or primary vote was held. And the INFORMED yahoos would have made themselves familiar with the arcane “rules” about voting in every State ahead of time… in order to frame their ads, and to know who to dismiss as ‘targets’… because they won’t be able to vote at all (“No Independents. No one who hasn’t been registered 6 months or more in advance. No one who registered less than 90 days ago.” etc etc) Primary voting, with PARTY control a prominent part of the process, is nothing like “democracy”… but it’s a Republic, right?.. not a “democracy”. ^..^

          • Hopefully, there have been some important lessons learned by progressives in these primaries and caucuses. We won’t go away, and we will get out in front of the problems created by arcane voting regulations next time. I learned a hell of a lot by registering voters in California …. the first time I ever did it, and by observing how ineptly some poll workers handled provisional ballots. The voting process, in this state anyway, is set up to suppress the votes of “no party preference” voters, that is, what other states call “Independents.” WE NEED TO CHANGE THIS PROCESS!

          • I was a poll worker in San Francisco for three elections in the 90s. I didn’t have full time work and needed the $80. I think its still $80. So I hope the nobody is really shocked that the aptitude of the workers available to work one Tuesday for 10-12 hours for $80 isn’t the most professional and efficient.

But how can you say California suppresses the independent voter? I think it’s a massive cave in for states to have “open” primaries. As a Democrat, I don’t want non democrats voting on who my party’s candidate is. If you want to be an independent, be an independent, you can’t have it both ways.

          • Re: poll workers. At my polling place the same elderly women show up time after time. That’s ok as long as they pay attention to any new rules or guidelines.

          • That’s your prerogative, but why should you then get to decide who a Democratic or Republican or whatever party’s candidates should be? You can vote for whomever you want…in the general election!

I am sure Bernie is exerting the exact same level of control. It’s like saying someone actively supports war because they pay taxes.

  11. I am sorry but by reading the document, the author proposed irregularity, which should be stopped, but is a reality of most badly run system which includes primaries. BUT, there is no evidence that they have selectively picked up Bernie voters and throw them away and kept Hillary’s …. I am sorry but in none of the polls Bernie was even close before then, which mathematically disregard the argument of the author. You can proceed with conspiracy theories and stay in the mentalities of denial. BUT, TRUMP is a danger to humanity, and you should unite with Hillary now. Don’t be like German progressives in 1930s – educate yourself and get your act together, while not forgetting that I have to make the system better in future, but now by winning, providing data that anyone with intelligence would easily refute… Since March it was obvious mathematically that Bernie will lose huge, but many Bernie supporters were not very educated and thus more emotional rather than rational… it is not the time to waste energy .. it is time to unite to beat Trump..

    • Are these the polls you’re talking about? http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pollster/2016-california-democratic-presidential-primary

What many people don’t realize about Trump is that he doesn’t believe in many of the things that he says but says them because he wants votes from the people who do believe them; he’s quite the budding politician. Also if you’re worried about some WWIII I’d look at Clinton very cautiously because she’s the most pro-war out of the whole field of presidential candidates, which shows up in both her voting records and public statements for all to see.

    • Every time you repeat Hillary’s campaign slogan “Do you want Trump to win?!”, an idealist dies and becomes an apathetic non-voter. And the party of surrender blunders on, surrendering at every opportunity.

Hillary has to EARN every vote by representing US, not her corporate and foreign interests. Her double talk and her team’s actions make it clear that she is in total disregard of the will of the people. You think she’s entitled to our vote?!

For me, it’s Bernie or it’s Trump. I’d rather fight Trump for four years and win the long game then acquiesce to the Democrats AGAIN and continue down this path of Reagan-era conservatism aka Neo Liberalism. I’m not afraid. If courage makes you uncomfortable then you are right at home in the Hillary camp.

  13. What nonsense. Ever think of counting the ballots cast in the Republican primary? They’re included in the total number of ballots cast, you know. There are no missing (or shredded ballots).

  17. My two sense with just a slight amount of information. There are shredders that are hired to shred all the VBM ballots turned in throughout the county, I asked when I turned my VBM ballot in, who, where, and what is done with them as there is a certain amount of personal information on each ballot. I was told that it goes un opened and that the entire closed box is shredded.

There are shredders that are hired to shred all the VBM ballots turned in throughout the county, The ones that are physically turned in at the polling place when a VBM voter doesn’t receive the correct party ballot or for whatever reason they are turning them in. I asked when I turned my VBM ballot in, who, where, and what is done with them as there is a certain amount of personal information on each ballot. 19. The original article in http://sourceplanet.net/politics/790816-provisional-votes-may-have-been-shredded/, basically just reported the shredding truck. The new element here is that people were edgy and claimed the activity was “above top secret.” Whoever claimed that was probably lying. If not, the consequence is that this was a covert DoD operation, which doesn’t make a lot of sense. Who are the sources for this story? Did any of them take pictures – of the boxes being carried out? Of the men in the blue overalls? Of the shredder truck’s license plate?

Now we have the FBI announcing they will not pursue charges against her! My interpretation of what Comey said is that there was gross negligence and possible criminal charges but lack of enough evidence to convict against her bank of high priced lawyers. He basically said that any other person in that position would have been fired or prosecuted! Her lack of care in handling top secret documents and carelessness with high security emails is not a good indicator of how she would perform as president! We need Bernie Sanders more than ever! I hope he will run as a third party candidate to give us a reasonable choice other than the disaster of a Trump or Clinton presidency!

    • Trust Vote commented that more fraud came from the repubs who opined that HRC would be easier to defeat that Bernie would be. However, there were clearly people people working for HRC that were participating and the Brooklyn voter suppression involved both the Dems and the Repubs..

  23. Guys the total votes were for the Democratic and Republican primaries which were held together, as far as I can tell. Am I wrong? The votes you are looking for were cast for Trump and company. I voted for Sanders by the way and support Jill Stein in his absence, but lets not get carried away.

  25. This country is a disgrace….

We forcefully invade foreign nations with the guise of bestowing almighty democracy when we don’t even have a shred of democracy ourselves.
