
A new EU ruling has means obesity can now be classified as a disability has been blasted by a leading weight-loss expert:
The European Court of Justice today ruled that an obese person can be considered to have a disability if their weight “hinders the full and effective participation of the person concerned in professional life on an equal basis with other workers”.

The judgement was made following the landmark case of a Danish childminder who is believed to have weighed more than 25 stone when he was sacked more than four years ago.
But the ruling has already sparked outrage from a weight-loss expert, who described it as an “absolute kick in the teeth” for disabled people.
Steve Miller, who stars on TV show Fat Families, said: “Being fat is self–inflicted, if someone wants to lose weight they can if they decide to do something about it. Disabled people will never be able to do this.
